The artist has given the complete sum of his twenty-five thousand pound honor winnings to the trust for venues, which operates to preserve the UK's small concert spaces.

Fender was presented with the award on October 16 as his third album the album was chosen as the outstanding release of the past year.

Fender has chosen to donate the funds to the trust, in appreciation of the crucial part small stages played in his initial steps.

"I couldn't be pursuing this success if it wasn't for all the performances I did around the area, and beyond, when I was starting out," said Sam Fender. "These spaces are iconic, but they are facing challenges."

Since the start of 2023, at least 150 of these spaces have shut down – about 16% of the total UK scene.

Over the past year, major artists such as Pulp, Coldplay, Katy Perry and Ed Sheeran have all aided the Music Venues Trust in its efforts to keep the scene afloat, by applying a minor surcharge to their ticket prices, which supports local stages.

Sam Fender also participated, generating over £100k on his 2024 arena tour to assist numerous grassroots venues across the UK.

The money helped venues that were confronting potential shutdown due to challenges caused by floods, blazes and bereavements, as well as licensing issues, legal disputes and sound issues.

Some locations received monetary aid in modernizing facilities and gear that helped performers and audiences.

"The concept that revenue from shows in large arenas helps the independent spots, where it all starts for artists like me, is just common sense," the star has said.

The musician is among several artists to contribute his honor funds to charitable organizations.

Back when Pulp earned the prize in the year 1996 for their release Different Class, lead singer Cocker declared that the group would donate their cash to the charity the charity.

In 2002, artist Ms Dynamite split her prize across several charities, such as the children's charity and a Sickle Cell charity.

"Additionally, I contributed a grand to the center, to their gymnastics program, because I practiced gymnastics when I was a child and they lacked updated gear," Ms Dynamite told the media.

Previously, they gave their funds to the community center that supported their band, in addition to other local music groups.

Additionally winners that year the group gave their award to a charity for MS after a acquaintance was found to have the condition.

"Winning was sufficient," remarked artist Small. "The prize was the cherry on top but we didn't require the bonus, because we had the honor. So our victory affected another person's life."

Recently, the Music Venues Trust announced it had saved two small stages in the South East, by transferring them to local control.

The Joiners in the city and The Croft in that location were bought under the Own Our Venues scheme, which is backed by the arts council and music fans who acquire "stakes" in the properties.
