Note: Revealing details for Episode 3 of the new season lie ahead.
The Warrior Group Introduced
Episode 3 finished on a major cliffhanger and presented the initial group of heroes who will separate from the main group to begin their own adventure, separate from the additional parties.
The Soldiers table features Teor Pridesire (played by Travis), Thimble (Laura), Tyranny (the cast member), Wicander (the player), and Kattigan (Robbie Daymond).
The Reason for Division
Given an extensive roster, it was clear from the start that keeping everyone at the same party would be unworkable.
This explains, the initial installments of Campaign 4 serve as an Overture, connecting the characters’ stories before splitting into three distinct groups: Warriors, Planners, and Seekers.
The Nature of the Soldiers Table
As described by Brennan Lee Mulligan, the Soldiers table is for players who are drawn to a traditionally charged combat and conflict-driven gameplay experience where non-violent answers are scarce.
At first glance, figures such as the squeamish cleric Wicander might appear mismatched, but the actions of the third episode demonstrate why these five characters are perfectly fit for the Soldiers table.
Motivations for Departure
To begin with, the party knows exactly where to proceed after a brutal initial meeting with The Crow Keepers.
A former ally of Thjazi Fang—whose death kicked off the narrative’s action—manipulated The Crow Keepers for his personal gain, invading Thjazi’s hideout, striking the character, and taking all the magical artifacts to sell off.
The traitor then paid off his debts and fled to a Halovar stronghouse in Gormalay, Timmony, beyond the city, with Cyd Pridesire hot on his heels.
Character Drivers
Moreover, each character has a specific drive to exit the metropolitan area:
- The agile hero, as Thjazi’s partner and closest confidant, wants retribution.
- The knowledgeable figure is familiar with the region and warns that it is a hostile place.
- The warrior and The cleric, having resisted his family’s wishes to eliminate the target and instead freed him, have nowhere else to go.
- Yet, their position as prominent individuals in the influential clan could help the party reach areas they typically wouldn’t be able to.
- Furthermore, The grateful character swore a life debt to The cleric for his deliverance and will now accompany him anywhere.
Pursued by Authorities
Finally, all of them are hunted by the rulers that rule the city for a multiple motives, making staying in the city dangerous:
- Thimble and Kattigan are recognized lawbreakers.
- The strong figure and Wicander defied House Halovar and the horde of evil beings they are partnered with.
- Teor is marked for death by House Halovar.
This results in them few options but to head to the northern region in search of the traitor.
